Fatal Attraction !!!!

Someone got me upset and I was talking to my friend about it, and she said that I should sit down and write a love story; maybe it would make me feel better, so I did...

I miss my baby so much…… but she's not here anymore. And it's true, she's the one, who if I was getting worked up, she'd probably say something so that my anger would be directed towards her instead say something soothing which means…”its ok”

My heartthrob and soul; I miss the new meaning she puts in my life when she is around or when I speak to her. The passage of time has made our bond stronger; our understanding of each other more deeper; our arguments longer because time has increased our knowledge of each other; our laughter more rich; our happiness more profound; our tears more poignant; our memories more nostalgic; our lives more rich because of the joy that a friendship as vibrant and fulfilling as ours brings; a friendship devoid of the illusions that lust gives, but yet filled with the mystery of love and undeniable attraction – the urge to share every moment and be a part of each other’s lives………….

And yet, this is more of a dream than reality, because distance has become my worst enemy; the arm that twists the hands of fate & destiny. The realization that separation is not always a choice, but can be determined by miles and TIME to come….. The painful reality that life is not always fair and dreams are not always realized, but then the acknowledgement that all things will work out as they ought to, everything happens for a reason and maybe or maybe not, fate will unravel its cords in my favor ( one day)  After all, it's not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.

A love story: Worthy of films and romance novels. As close to the clinched "love at first sight' as it can possibly be. A year ago – (on a special day – as special as this story goes) since I first set eyes on her and to this day, some things never change. Some things do change however; from a guy’s crush to a feeling of a growing adolescent's troubled and confused emotions, and now to a adult's confidence in the fact that above all else; all the other side attractions, flings, involvements, even girlfriends, in my heart she remains supreme.

There can only be one key to fit a door and she hold the key that unlocks the door to my heart. Not the heart that is free to love friends and family, to look twice, maybe three times at every cute girl crossing the road, to find deep attractions and bonds with special people, but the heart that in this life that we live, only one person can have. For in life, you find only one true love, only one you can love in spite of who they are, only one you can love without setting any conditions nor asking any questions about whether this really is love, or lust or infatuation, because you have the answer; it lies in the very depths of your heart.

I have my answer and I have found my love, but I must accept the fact that as much as you will find only one true love in your life, it is only if you are lucky that you will spend the rest of your life with him/her.  But I truly believe that it is better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all, because in life you win some and you lose some. Life is a battleground and it is the courageous and strong that emerge victorious. And I find the strength from within to survive from day to day, to overcome my trials and temptations, to conquer my difficulties and to transcend the greatest of all things: LOVE.

Are Great Managers different in management?

Some managers rise above the average one, they add distinctively higher and different value to the organisation. Managers do things differently and some of them are:
1. They eventually during their careers achieve a perfect balance between delegating and being hands-on, in every situation.
2.They nurture insightful conversations - those that create a 'wow' moment
3. They simplify situations and the lives of the people they manage and interact
4.They do not hesitate to express themselves

Lets examine each of these.

1. Creating the balance between delegating and being hands-on...
first, it shows that the manager is capable of being hands-on and that the manager knows what her team is doing.
second it shows that the manager can prioritise well and understand that her real roles is to add value by doing things that she is supposed to be doing and not by doing things her team is supposed to be doing. Therefore, she will step in to help the team/team member if there is a crisis or a challenge that hinders the work. She then will get back to what she is supposed to be doing.
A lot of managers take pride in being too hands-on and understand less on how to delegate in the bargain. They fail to delegate because:
a. they do not have clarity while communicating what is expected
b. they do not have the rigor to periodically review whether things are on track
c. unable to differentiate and delegate as to who they are delegating (capability to complete the task to the one the task is delegated)

2.They nurture insightful conversations - those that create a 'wow' moment
Great managers always tell stories or teachable points to share, they encourage their teams to to develop- share and express  their points of view on a wide range of issues. they are aware that through these insightful conversations, they help-create clarity and cut through the clutter that opaques the clarity and consumes time and attention.

3. They simplify situations and the lives of the people they manage and interact
Most management gurus underplay and underestimate the power of 'simplifying life and mangement'.
The simplifiers are those who understand what counts the most in situations and design their solutions around these. Simplicity can be in process design , in thinking and about cause and affect , and in establishing the key drivers in any given situation.Simplifying things comes only when the manager has a crystal clear thinking on issues, subject matter and her job. Thus the manager can nurture insightful conversations and in the whole process encourage everyone around her team to develop reachable points of view.
End-of-day who wants a complicated partner?, a complicated task to accomplish, a complex way of living, and pre-dominantly a complicated solution to a already complicated problem?

4.They do not hesitate to express themselves
Great managers express themselves either by showing or telling their team/team members when they like something, they say so and when they don't like something they say so too.
They walk the talk.
Behaviors in the team are driven less by a dressing-down by the manager based on what her own beliefs. Instead its better to point out instances of good an bad execution that happened with inputs on what should have been done differently in cases of a bad execution.
Also as a manger she can demonstrate a good execution herself in every situation.
when great mangers provide some hard feedback int he morning one day, they make it a point to follow it up that very evening with a friendly chat over cup of coffee. This enhances the rate of success in the team that they are following a true leader.

Average Mangers in contrast do not feel confident expressing dissatisfaction when they do not like something, this is either because they do not have the skill to express dissatisfaction with behaviour or outcome without this rubbing off on the overall relationship with the individual or because they simply feel uncomfortable doing so.
whatever the underlying reason id does not engender high performance of individual or, the team.
